The Bar Galaxy is curated by Jason Littrell
Galaxy is a map of who worked behind which bars, built only from published sources. It exists because bar careers move fast and get remembered by whoever writes the press, and there was no public place to walk the graph.
Who I am
I've spent almost twenty years in the bar and beverage industry. I worked at Death & Co in New York (2007-2009), consulted at the OTG Terminal C bar programs (2011), taught for Campari Academy, worked as a spirits specialist for Southern Glazer's, and ran beverage operations for CitizenM. Today I run Kinetic Management Systems and a portfolio of hospitality products.
Galaxy is what I wish had existed when I was trying to trace who trained whom.
The rules this project lives by
- Only published sources. Every line on every page has a citation. If a source doesn't say it, this site doesn't say it either. Blanks stay blank.
- Nothing invented. No inference, no guessing at years, no filling in a job title because "probably."
- Opt-out is instant. Anyone documented here can suppress their own record at /mine, without an approval step and without giving a reason.
- The dead appear as initials only. They can't consent, and naming them for search would be distasteful.
- No portraits, no press photos. This is a graph, not a gallery.
- Ethics before growth. If a line hurts someone and the source is thin, the line comes down before we argue about it.
Getting in touch
Corrections and opt-outs go through the site so they leave a paper trail: manage your record, add or fix a line. For anything else, reach me at jlittrell.com.
